This project for Powell Peralta embraces the brand’s iconic rebellious spirit by incorporating a skull as the central element, resonating with their renowned “rat bones” graphic.
The underwater theme features a crown and gems, a sword, and a snake, symbolizing the depth of human life. The crown and gems represent the futility of material wealth, while the sword, adorned with blooming flowers, signifies power and love. The red snake symbolizes rebirth and transformation, reflecting past traumas and changes.
The moral is that we can’t take material possessions with us when we die, but our mind carries our memories and experiences. Thus, we should strive to create joyful memories that will stay with us forever. This deck design serves as a powerful reminder to skateboarders to embrace the journey and create lasting memories with every ride.
